Wyre Forest
Just to the west of Birmingham, Wyre Forest is the largest woodland National Nature Reserve in the country. With plenty of trails to explore, an arboretum, yoga and park run, activities for the children with Go Ape, geocaching and even a dog wash station there is plenty to occupy the whole family.
People with mobility difficulties can explore Wyre Forest with ease using a Tramper hired through the Countryside Mobility Scheme. Trampers are off road mobility scooters which can tackle a range of surfaces and weather conditions and can be rented out to enable easier access to the outdoors. It is not necessary to be registered disabled in order to rent one.
Trampers are easy to use and are suitable for the Wren, Buzzard and Woodpecker Trail as well as the extensive network of forest roads.
Hire rates
The Tramper is available to hire seven days a week, 10am – 4pm. Pre-booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment (minimum of 72 hours prior to booking)
Prices are per Tramper:
Up to 1 hour | £2.50 |
Up to 3 hours | £5 |
Up to 6 hours | £10 |
Wyre Forest is a cashless site and so payment is by card only.
Anyone wishing to use the Tramper must be over the age of 14. If you are not already a member of Countryside Mobility, becoming one is quick and easy and will be part of your induction (£2.50 for 2 weeks, £10 for 1 year). You can then use Trampers at around 50 other beauty spots around England.
