Sweden – NON accessible providers

Sometimes it is just as helpful to know the companies that don’t provide accessible services as the ones that do.  While this does not mean that they will be not be of any interest to some, we believe that having that as many details as possible enables you to make an informed decision.

Below are transport companies that currently do not offer accessible services to wheelchair users.

FLYGBUSSARNA – they operate airport buses from the major airports in Sweden.  However, these are not suitable for wheelchair users. The website states “Flygbussarna’s vehicles are not equipped with ramps or lifting devices and often have several stairs. If you can get on and off the bus by yourself, you can travel with us. Flygbussarna’s staff cannot help with lifting people in or out of the coaches, but they are happy to help you load a wheelchair with the rest of the luggage.”

OCEANBUS – offer tours of both Sweden and Gothenburg in am amphibious bus to enable you to view the cities from both land and water.  Unfortunately the bus is not wheelchair accessible.  In answer to this question on the website they reply “No, but the crew on board is very helpful and happy to assist if any passengers need extra support”. Wheelchairs cannot be brought on board. “We have staff by the starting pint who provide locks that can be used to lock a pram or similar at the start and stop location”
