This large modern villa on the beautiful island of Menorca sleeps 6 and was built with the needs of guests with limited mobility or those requiring the use of a wheelchair very much in mind.  The owners have two children, one of whom is a wheelchair user, so are well placed to understand the requirements of guests in the same position.

The villa is just fifteen minutes from the airport and is situated in the prestigious residential area of Cala Llonga. The area itself is undulating but the ground floor and outside space of the villa are completely flat, with no awkward steps or thresholds to negotiate.  The flat patio offers BBQ facilities and a covered dining area.

There is also a large 9.0m x 4.5m swimming pool, specially designed with a full-length ramp and handrail to provide a more dignified method of entry into the water.  It has night lighting and can even be heated during the cooler months, meaning a stay here could be year round.

The property boasts three double bedrooms each of which have their own bath or wet room.  The living area is open planned and spacious, offering lots of room to manoeuvre for wheelchair users.  The kitchen is separate and there is also a utility room.

The villa is only ten minutes by car from the capital of Mahon which has a good selection of shops and restaurants worth a visit.  There is a local supermarket and hotel/restaurant nearby for those who don’t want to get in the car.  The villa also provides a great base to explore the island and some of its wheelchair accessible beaches.

The owners do recommend the use of a car while staying here, either a hire car or one of the wheelchair accessible taxis that are available.  They can offer advice and contact details for this.

General accessibility information

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor.  One is double bedded with its own wet room and double doors opening out on the patio.  The other is twin bedded with an ensuite wet/bathroom.  Shower chairs are available for use.

The living area is open plan, spacious and easy to manoeuvre around, with double doors opening out onto the patio.

The kitchen is fully equipped but has a worktop height of 930mm.

Outside the large patio has a covered area as well as plenty of space to relax in the sun.  The pool has a full length ramp with a handrail to access it more easily.  There is a pool wheelchair available for use.
