A Wheel and Away

Kamp Koren

Kobarid, Slovenia

Kamp Koren is a four star campsite based in the stunning Soca Valley, only 500m from Kobarid.  The emerald green Soca river flows right past it and the location is beautiful, whether you want to just relax or whether you are keen to get involved in any of the many activities on offer.

It was one of the first Slovene campsites to be awarded the Ecolabel and is rated by Cool Camping Europa as being one of the top 20 European destinations for camping.

Accommodation wise, there are a number of choices.  There are pitches for tents, caravans and camper vans, tents for hire and also wooden chalets, one of which is accessible to wheelchair users.

There are many different activities to try out, whether on site or out and about.  On site, you can choose from table tennis, volleyball, bowling as well as lots of others.  Watersports such as kayaking, rafting and hydrospeeding are very popular here.  You could also go horse riding, fishing, play golf or perhaps try paragliding!

Alternatively, the site makes a perfect base to explore some of the more cultural aspects of the area.  You could go exploring and discover some of the WW1 history of the area, sample some of the local wines or visit one of the many festivals held regularly nearby.

A stay at Kamp Koren is not only limited to the summer months – the campsite is open year round and is located close to the ski centre of Kanin-Sella Nevea.

The site has a shop selling lots of local produce as well as an herb garden which campers are encouraged to use.  There is a gym and salt room – described as a seaside room, this is maintained at 25-30 degrees and is good for the breathing as well as your skin.

There are kitchen facilities, laundry facilities and full internet access.

The site can also arrange airport transfers.
