Bristol airport’s new disabled friendly initiative
Yesterday Bristol airport launched a new initiative to help people with all kinds of disabilities navigate the airport with ease and dignity.
The scheme aims to assist people with disabilities which are perhaps less visible or obvious than others to request the additional help they may need at the airport. This may be giving them more time to get to where they need to go, help with working out where they need to go, reassurance if needed or many other things.
The method is simple. The need is simply highlighted with the special assistance team at the airport who then supply the person with a coloured lanyard or a special card to show staff as they move through the airport.
Discreet, simple and dignified, let’s hope the scheme is a success.
