I was this close to wiring a deposit on a 2016 Range Rover Autobiography that looked absolutely flawless, black on black with the rear entertainment and the deployable side steps, the whole nine yards. The inspector found that the car had been in a fairly significant front end hit that wasn’t reported on any of the online records, the radiator support was bent and the AC condenser had been replaced with a cheap aftermarket unit that was already starting to leak dye. He also noted that the timing chain had a faint rattle on a cold start that the warm engine during my test drive completely masked. The dealer acted shocked when I walked away but I could tell from his face he knew exactly what he was sitting on. If you’re looking at a used Range Rover just pay for the proper check, it saved me from a world of financial pain.
